AFRICA
V&J CEO, VALERIE DANIELS- CARTER SET FOR
WELLNESS TOUR OF GHANA AND KENYA
SPEADING HEALlli, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
October 3, 2007- V&J Holding
Companies Inc. (V&J), CEO Valerie Daniels Carter is set
to visit two African nations with separate initiatives
to build economic stability, develop social welfare and
create physical wellness. V&J will partner with
Wisconsin First Jurisdiction and Save Africa's Children
to foster overall advancement of the local communities.
:Mrs. Daniels-Carter will travel with her brother Bishop
Sedgwick Daniels and a delegation from Wisconsin to
visit Accra, Ghana and Nairobi, Kenya in October 2007.
The
first stop on the tour is Accra, Ghana, where :Mrs.
Daniels-Carter will host an "Economic Empowerment
Initiative (EEl)." Under this program the V&J Holdings
Companies Inc and Wisconsin First Jurisdiction will
acquire 20 acres of land in Accra where locals with an
outgoing entrepreneurial spirit will have an opportunity
to plant, grow and cultivate the fruitful terrain. After
developing the crop, the entrepreneurs and their
families will then be able take the product to market
for resell. The proceeds will go to the families of the
entrepreneurs, give aide to other needy families, the
continued re - development of the land and also to help
support local ministries initiatives. "This a great
opportunity to teach self-sustainability while aiding to
the help of economic development of the country," stated
:Mrs. Daniels-Carter.
The second location on the
campaign is to Kenya's capitol, Nairobi where V&J
Holdings Companies in conjunction with First
Jurisdiction of Wisconsin and Save Africa's Children
will host a V&J free Medical Clinic Health Day at
Cornerstone Nairobi to benefit the community around our
neighborhood and also Orphanages around Nairobi. On this
day it is our intent to treat estimated 300-350
patients. Doctors, dentists and other medical
professionals have volunteered their time and effort to
offer free medical attention, examinations for children
infected with the AIDS virus, immunizations, and other
medical attention as needed. The team will provide the
funding for medication, supplies and other needed items.
The
final stop is to the Kenyan village of Athi River, where
V&J in conjunction with Wisconsin First Jurisdiction
will build a second orphanage. The newly built center
will house and educate children within this community.
V&J in conjunction with Save Africa's Children and the
:Minority Franchisee Association built three educational
facilities for the Jubilee Center Orphanage Center in
2005. In addition the delegation the joint partnership
will purchase school uniforms, shoes and school bags for
children. Alongside this initiative the delegation will
purchase food items and literary visit the homes where
these children come from. They will visit several homes
and will have firsthand experience in a very rural
typical African setting. V&J also supported the funding
of a well project that Wisconsin First Jurisdiction
built in 2006 in Nairobi. This project provided water
supply and sewage system of over 20,000 families within
this local community.
